Smart Economies Connecting – The Asia Ireland Financial Services Opportunity

FSI, in association with Asia Matters, organised a roundtable discussion for CEOs and Senior Executives on 30 January 2018. The theme for the event was Smart Economies Connecting – The Asia Ireland Financial Services Opportunity. Ruairi Quinn, former Minister for Finance moderated a panel discussion on
aircraft leasing and prospects for growth in this dynamic sector;
the importance of financial technology and the opportunities and challenges presented by it;
key drivers for the global expansion of Chinese and Japanese banks into Europe;
developments in the APAC regions; and
the impact of Brexit.

H.E. Peter Ryan, Consul General of Ireland to Hong Kong and Macau, gave the keynote address centring around the opportunities for Ireland to promote its location to companies coming from China.
