The Financial Services Ireland Annual Lunch took place on Thursday 8 June which was proudly sponsored by KPMG.
The 2017 FSI Annual Lunch took place in The Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin 2. The guest speaker on this occasion was Dr Paul Ryan of the Department of Finance.
In a powerful and broad-ranging update of government thinking on the financial services sector, Dr Ryan urged the record audience to take a positive view of the industry growth to date: "The key aim of IFS2020 is to increase employment by 30% or 10,000 net new jobs over the Strategy from 2015 to 2020: by end-2016 we have already seen a 13% increase in those employed".
The Annual Lunch was also an opportunity to the introduce the new FSI Chair, Joe Duffy, Head of Global Client Management, EMEA and Country Executive, BNY Mellon Ireland.
