Overview

FSI offers a variety of networking, training, workshops and information events each year, many of which are either free or subsidised. FSI aims to target every level of employee and every facet of our members' business. Our events are always based on member needs and only after agreement by relevant working groups and board approval do we run our programmes. Input from members determines agendas, guest speakers and topics so you can count on FSI for industry driven content.

FSI has been active in securing funding for courses for Financial Services professionals. Sector-specific subsidised training has been organised through Finuas. Details of courses are available on our dedicated website www.summitfinuasnetwork.ie

In 2011, FSI was awarded funding for the training of unemployed jobseekers under the Springboard Initiative which is being managed by the Higher Education Authority on behalf of the Department of Education and Skills. The programme is a combination of academic courses and work placements and mentoring. FSI have secured additional funding from the Higher Education Authority for a second programme which will commence in September 2012. The target number of participants for the new programme is 130.

The taught elements of the programme will be delivered by the Institute of Bankers School of Professional Finance and the IBEC Management Academy.

FSI CareerStart A combines a Professional Certificate in International Financial Services delivered by the Institute of Bankers in Ireland with a Diploma in Management delivered by IBEC Management Training (accredited by DIT), as well as offering candidates placement opportunities with leading IFSC employers.

FSI CareerStart B combines a Diploma in International Financial Services delivered by the Institute of Bankers in Ireland with a tailored Management programme delivered by IBEC Management Training, as well as offering candidates placement opportunities with leading IFSC employers.

The programme will be delivered over a 12-month continuous period (Sept 2012-Sept 2013). The programme structure allows participants to continue job search, take up work placement opportunities, or enter employment while continuing their learning path.
